Dear Intercessors and Friends:
To God be the glory!
This is an update of what Inner City Light is doing in preparation for our move to the nations. There have been several developments, as many of you know if you are on our e-mail list. If you are not and would like to be, please send your e-mail address to icloffice@iclglobal.net. Otherwise, these periodic letters will serve as your updates.
ICL INDIA
As you know, ICL is preparing to move into our beloved India . Much activity is going in that direction. Our plans are two-fold for our work in that nation. The first aspect of our service unto the Lord is to travel, preaching, teaching and evangelizing to the ones Jesus loves. This generally includes lepers, women's groups, mountain village areas and the like. We are currently scheduling a two-month outreach to those areas where we have established relationships.
The second goal is to dig deep into Mumbai, establishing roots there, while we begin the process of bringing a Healing Rooms into that wonderful city. The steps we have taken thus far involve training with the International Association of Healing Rooms under Cal Pierce. We have been wonderfully supported by the Heartland Healing Rooms (located in Kansas City) as well as the San Diego Healing Rooms. In July of this year, two of us targeted to go to Mumbai met an Indian pastor desiring to establish this work in the City of Mumbai. We are grateful to Merina Netto, National President of Aglow/India, for introducing us to this pastor.
That meeting will be followed by an on-site training session at Spokane, Washington, where we will meet with Cal Pierce. What a privilege and honor this will be! We are eagerly looking forward it. We also will be going to Edmonds, Washington, to visit the home-site of Aglow International, and to meet with Aglow's Africa and Asia coordinators.
There is a team praying about going into India. This small group from three different U.S. cities must go through one outreach with ICL to make sure we work well and gel as a unity-based team. We went into our second outreach this month.
One of our biggest prayer requests to you, our friends, is to pray that God would confirm His word to those He has called to join us.
As you may know, Inner City Light is overseen by a non-profit board with legal status in the United States. This board met last month in our last stages of preparation for the move into Mumbai, India. This board has done an outstanding job.
ICL SAN DIEGO
While Jodie was in San Diego, ICL went back into the gay and lesbian community to encourage relationships formed in that area during the past several years.
In July, we served our Set Free brothers and sisters as we have done in the past. This is an annual commitment to Set Free, as is serving the gay and lesbian community in San Diego.
Activities at Set Free included the following:
. ICL served Set Free El Cajon Church with a prophetic word of encouragement.
» On Saturday, the San Diego Set Free women's outreach was a great success. The women's homes came together for a morning of worship and dance with scripture and testimonies. Later, all the cooperate teams (ICL, Aglow, Klee Adonai Dance Troupe, Assemblies of God) gathered for a joint luncheon with all the Set Free women. Following a word of teaching on the "Covenantal Love of God", ministry time showed God reaching out to those truly addicted, be it drugs, alcohol, or sexual addictions. God came powerfully, thanks to you who prayed and fasted. One woman went down under the power of God without even having hands laid on her! Another was deeply touched and healed physically and gave her testimony to the Set Free church on Sunday. Many wept when God's love touched their hearts with inner healing. Others came under the power of God and rested on the floor.
» Sunday at the Set Free First Stage (for new arrivals) Men's Ranch was a time of salvation unto the King. Two messages were brought forth: a salvation message from the book of Ephesians, followed by "The Father's Heart" by Don Bandow. Who said men don't cry? It happened, as they were touched and received both salvation and the healing love of The Father. Of course we prayed for the healing of addictions here too: heroin, alcohol and pornography.
» Church, you are needed out there in the highways and byways! Please, consider serving Him in this area of great need.
» Feedback: Looks like the India team was hand-picked by God. Another said "Your presentation was superb!" The ICL team came together to serve our King at Set Free as a trial run for India. Unity and love was displayed and enjoyed.
One final touch from heaven came upon leaving San Diego. On the final day, contracts were being discussed on opening The Healing Rooms Mumbai with IAHR, the Mumbai pastors and ICL. How we give Him all the glory!
Two other ministry times were included in the ICL schedule in July. One, we did a presentation for our friends at Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church/Hillcrest. Two, we served an Aglow chapter meeting under Beth Nichols and Alma Garcia, which also has become an annual event. How we enjoyed serving our King of Kings!
PRAYER REQUESTS
. ICL is in dire need of an IBM-compatible PC for the Kansas City office.
. ICL has established an "Adopt-A-Missionary" program for our up-coming outreach and future relocation into India. The first of the candidates is Shawna Summers, who is fully committed to serve our Lord in this first India trip.
