JUNE 2006
Dearest Intercessors and Friends,
June is a month of transition for many reasons. Jodie returns to the US on the 30th of this month. She has this huge job of tying up ends before her departure, and seeing the right people in the right place. "India Healing Rooms" will now be overseen by Shekhar and Sheila Abraham and administrated by Leon and Teresa Fernandes. This is a huge answer to prayer. The healing Rooms will also flow with the team of technicians at the local site 'Bethel' This a great team, flowing together in one mind and one spirit, all committed to do their bit to do an excellent job of the Healing Rooms here in India. What a team God has brought in!
A lovely couple, Leon and Teresa Fernandes will be administrating Healing Rooms. They take the baton on from Jodie with a real diligent spirit. They are both totally committed to seeing the Healing Rooms established and progress. They also oversee one of the Slum Healing Room Sites as well.
We are in the final stages of completion of all the paper work and administration so that Jodie returns to the US with a sense of everything related to India Healing Rooms in place. A lot of time has been spent in team discussions to iron out any remaining wrinkles. The oversight spent a time in prayer for India Healing Rooms. Also, there was a significant Board Meeting on June 18, in which important decisions were taken regards India Healing Rooms. Jodie says she is finding it hard to get out the door! There is a sense of already missing those she has bonded with over the past five months in India!
ICL has acquired a new Office Assistant since the past month, to undertake the office administration. Jodie says, 'Anne has been a godly blessing, and I have been deeply blessed serving Jesus with Anne.'
During the past couple of months ICL India has established a work with a Prostitutes Recovery Home in New Bombay. We are looking forward to continuing serving them on Jodie's return to India later this year in October. This recovery home is a well established work and the couple that directs it are easy to flow with in the spirit. There is a genuine spirit of love and care for the girls and Jodie senses a desire that work with this recovery home will be ongoing during her stay in India.
It was such a joy to have ICL missionary Tina Teel with us for three weeks in June. She was a breath of fresh air and really went all out to be a significant blessing as she served the India Healing Rooms by her counsel, friendship and prayer. She served ICL by going with us as a team to the Prostitutes Recovery Home and sharing her testimony there. The girls were truly blessed by her honesty and openness in sharing with them.
While she was here we also had a healthy 'girls' play day out when we went sight seeing and had a meal together in the heart of Mumbai city. Jodie says, 'Missionaries need this. She blessed our socks off!'
On her return to the US one major thing that Jodie needs to do is to get her 10-year visa to India sanctioned. She needs wisdom and direction on how to go about this. Jodie has received a lot of different advice from various US citizens who are in Mumbai on long term visas. She needs prayer to know what will work best for her in her situation. A lot of practical issues have to be settled regards this, even simple things like how to own a bank account in India and how to rent a house here.
The next three months will be rest, training and preparation to return. July will be a 'dark' month when Jodie will have no official communication, save the absolutely necessary. She will be resting and restoring herself after five hectic months in India! Please look for our next newsletter in August.
Towards the end of July and the beginning of August she will spend a week in study, going through all the Healing Rooms material. This will be a time of retreat and waiting in His presence as well, in Kansas City - MO.
September is training month. She has 13 days of training and serving at Spokane healing Rooms and then 2 days at San Diego HRs. She will do one weekend serving the homeless and lost with 'Set Free' and a team from September 1 to 3. She will also be attending a Leadership Training School with John Paul Jackson ministries in September.
Besides this, she will be reporting to supportive Churches and ministries about the past five months in India, so that they will know exactly what they have been supporting. She has been so blessed by them. Their prayer and emotional support have been her sustaining grace. She hopes that they will continue to pray for and support her when she returns later this year for another round of work developing the expanding Healing Rooms, India.
She returns to Mumbai, India on October 15.The major decision will be moving into her own rented apartment to stay until March 2007, with an annual return to serve India.
NEEDS FOR PRAYER:
Thank God for the entire ICL team and their efforts to serve India for the past five months. Their labor in the Lord is definitely not in vain.
- Pray a rich blessing on each of them. Cheryl, Shawna and Christina and Tina were all a rich blessing to ICL and to India they were here.
- Pray for a more powerful healing anointing on the technicians at the Bethel Healing Rooms site in Mumbai.
- For the team of technicians to be united in one mind and spirit as they minister to those in need of prayer.
- For the administration to run smoothly, and maintain a standard of excellence for the Kingdom.
- For Jodie to get her long-term visa for India.
- For a full time HR secretary.
- For safe journey back to the US for Jodie. Also that all loose ends will be tied up and she leaves a 'neat' package back here!
Blessings abundant for all your love and support during the past five months. You will never know how much you are loved and appreciated, and what your prayers for India have achieved.
